HOW IT WORKS

One ICNS layer, one PNG

  1. 1
    Choose one ICNS file

The file is inspected locally for readable PNG-backed icon entries.

  2. 2
    Select a detected size

The largest size in the file is selected first. Switch sizes to update the preview.

  3. 3
    Trim if you want

The optional crop removes fully transparent outer pixels and keeps the visible image.

  4. 4
    Download one PNG

The selected image layer is saved as a PNG on your device.

FAQ

ICNS to PNG questions

How can I export one size from an ICNS file?

Choose an ICNS file, then select one of the sizes the file actually contains. The selected image updates in the preview. Download PNG saves only that layer.

Why does an exported icon have extra transparent space?

An ICNS layer can include transparent pixels around the visible artwork. Turn on Trim transparent edges to crop to the outermost non-transparent pixels. Leave it off to preserve the layer's full canvas.

Can I convert ICNS to PNG online without uploading?

Yes. This ICNS to PNG online converter reads the file and creates the PNG in your browser. The file is not sent to a server.

Why does my ICNS file show no sizes?

This page exports ICNS entries that contain PNG images the browser can decode. Some older ICNS encodings use other image data and are not supported here.
